About Anton Safronov
Was born on May 19, 1972 in Moscow (USSR). In 1991 he graduated from the School at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1996 he graduated from the Conservatory, class of composition with Edison Denisov. He also graduated from graduate school there (in 1999). Trained in Germany with Walter Zimmermann (Berlin University of the Arts) and Wolfgang Riehm (University of Music in Karlsruhe), attended master classes by Paul-Heinz Dittrich, Beat Furrer, Peter Ruzicka.
In 2003-09 he taught at the Moscow Conservatory (analysis of musical works, seminar "Music of the XX century"), since 2009 he has been teaching at the Berlin University of the Arts. Delivers articles, lectures, reports and radio broadcasts on contemporary music, incl. with publications in the journal "Musical Life". In 2004-09 he was a member of the editorial board and author of articles for the Tribune of Contemporary Music magazine. Project coordinator of the festival "Territory" (2008-09), Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (2009-11),
In 1995-1997 he was a fellow of the Moscow Union of Composers. He was also a Fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) (1996-98), Villa Massimo Academy (Rome, 2007), Solitude Academy (Stuttgart, 2008), etc.
