Praised by The Telegraph as a “real discovery” and for his “ravishing, unspotted lyricism”, German violinist Tobias Feldmann is one of the most interesting musical personalities of his generation. His multifaceted performances are characterized by stylistic versatility, strong stage presence and emotional depth.

Following his BBC Proms debut at the Royal Albert Hall (London) in 2024 with the BBC Philharmonic (Beethoven) conducted by Anja Bihlmaier, in the 2024-25 season, he will debut with Filharmonia Slaska (Beethoven), Hofer Symphoniker ("Niobe" by Richard Blackford) as well as with Gavle Symfoniorkester with Chloé van Soeterstède. Tobias will return to the Residentie Orkest (Schumann) conducted by Richard Egarr, Niedersächsische Staatsorchester Hanover (Hanover State Symphony Orchestra) with Schumann’s Volin Concerto conducted by Stephan Zilias, as well as to the Presidential State Symphony in Ankara, Turkey.

In recital, he makes his debut at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (DK) in a trio with Lise Berthaud and Julian Steckel, as well as a solo-Bach recital at the Schumann-Haus in Leipzig, Germany, in addition to returning to the Music Festival Pohang in South Korea.

A prize winner of the International Queen Elisabeth Competition, German Music Competition and Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition, recent concerto highlights for Tobias have included performances with Minnesota Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, WDR Sinfonieorchester, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, Orquestra Simfonica de Barcelona, BBC Scottish Symphony, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic, Residentie Orkest, Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble Resonanz, Moscow State Symphony, Brussels Philharmonic, Utah Symphony, Orchestre Symphonique de Québec; collaborating with Nathalie Stutzmann, David Afkham, John Storgårds, Nicholas Collon, Lorenzo Viotti, Reinhard Goebel, Fabien Gabel, Joana Mallwitz and Marin Alsop amongst others.

An avid chamber musician, Tobias has performed at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Vinterfest, Rheingau and Lockenhaus festivals, partnering with Martin Helmchen, Timothy Ridout, Kian Soltani, Christian Tetzlaff, Nicolas Altstaedt, Jean-Guihen Queyras and Tabea Zimmermann in addition to regular trio performances with Lise Berthaud and Julian Steckel.

His discography includes recordings for GENUIN and Alpha Classics, most recently with violin concertos by Sibelius and Rautavaara recorded with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royale de Liège conducted by Jean-Jacques Kantorow.

At age of 26, Tobias Feldmann was appointed as a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg making him one of the youngest professors in the history of Germany. At the invitation of the Berliner Philharmoniker, he has performed as guest first concertmaster and since October 2022 has been professor at the renowned Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy“ in Leipzig, Germany.

He performs on a violin by Nicolo Gagliano, Naples 1769.
