Australian born mezzo-soprano Caitlin Hulcup found her career in the major Strauss, Rossini, Mozart and Handel roles at international opera houses.
She gave her first Octavian/ Der Rosenkavalier for Maggio Musicale Fiorentino with Zubin Mehta and reprising the role many times including for Bolshoi Opera Moscow and NCPA Beijing. She has sung Rosina/ Il barbiere di Siviglia and Dorabella/ Così fan tutte for Vienna State Opera; Donna Elvira / Don Giovanni at Palau de les Arts Valencia, Idamante / Idomeneo for Teatro Nacional de São Carlo Lisbon and Handel’s Ariodante in Vienna, Madrid, Braunschweig, München, Edinburgh and London.
Her US debut at the Kennedy Center Washington was Handel's Radamisto and she has appeared as Penelope/ Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria and Aristeus/ Orpheus and Arbaces / Artaxerses for Royal Opera House Covent Garden; Iseult/ Le vin herbé for Welsh National Opera; Il Piacere/ Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno at Det Kongelige Teater Copenhagen, Carmen for Mikhailovski Theatre St Petersburg and made her Wagnerian debut as Fricka/ Die Walküre in Singapore in 2020.
In concert Caitlin regularly appears worldwide on stages for instance Sydney Opera House, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Musiikkitalo Helsinki, Wiener Konzerthaus, Royal Albert Hall, Gewandhaus Leipzig and Laeiszhalle Hamburg and she regularly gives recitals in Lieder and Festival events.
